SPANISH SUMMER CAMPS SPANISH SUMMER CAMPS ARE NOT A CLASS... IT'S AN UNFORGETTABLE LIFE EXPERIENCE!! Spanish Is Fun has been recognized as opening the first Spanish summer camp in Colorado. We continue to be apart of the highly successful Clorado Academy summer camp experience. As well as offering many other summer camps around Colorado. This camp provides children with the basic Spanish vocabulary through a "hands-on" interactive learning experience. Great for kids of all Spanish language abilities, from the very beginner to those who have considerable experience with Spanish.

Campers will have the opportunity to participate in fun and educational activities including "theme" days and field trips; and will utilize their Spanish language skills in a variety of entertaining and interesting projects. SUMMER CAMPS 2009! INTRODUCING OUR FIRST LATIN CARNAVAL! This year the fun includes preparing mouth watering sopapillas. How about your own Latin Band, with instruments, such as congas and bongos with a professional percussionist to show you how to play them? "Discover Your Own Treasure" in a scavenger hunt. Create wild masks from indigenous Latin American cultures during the arts activities. Try out Latin dances. Learn the three basic salsa steps, and then choreograph your own dance. Our closing activities feature a fiesta day with a piñata. Could there be a better way to learn conversational Spanish? Your children will remember this experience forever! OUR SUMMER CAMP TEACHERS: Linda Howard was raised in Mexico City by American parents. She has been teaching for Jefferson County Public Schools for twelve years, Head Start for five years, and Spanish Is Fun for three years. She has a BA in Spanish and an alternative certification. Martha Castillo was born in Mexico City and grew up bilingual. She earned a Bachelor's degree from a prestigious Mexican university. While in Mexico, she taught English for three years and owned a public relations firm for seven years. She has been teaching for Spanish Is Fun for two years. Silvia Cubillos Vélez, a native of Colombia is one of Colorado's many Spanish speakers. Relocating to Denver, Colorado from Colombia seven years ago, Ms. Velez began her crusade to cross cultural lines and recognized Colorado's growing need for bilingualism.
